Oh Happy Day!

Today was a good day, I got to have breakfast with Bruce Springsteen!! Ok, well, there were about 20 million others having breakfast with him too... since he was on the Today show this morning - I just LOVE him and it was great to hear him sing old and new songs. I will be picking up the new album due out next week! :)

the good and the not so good

Hi guys!
I have good news and not so good news (don't worry it it's not horrible or anything) so here goes the not so good news first... The hard drive in our computer went bad over the weekend and I was thinking, what does that really mean anyway? Is it standing on the corner yelling at the neighbors and kicking their dog or what?? It is now in the process of being fixed which is very good.
Now on to the good news... none of my patterns were harmed or lost or vanished into computer wasteland so that makes me very happy!
I'll write more soon and update all of you on my "market progress" eeek!!

What I did on my summer vacation part two

We have always wanted to go to Alaska, so after much planning, we took an Alaskan cruise at the beginning of August. It was explained to us that in Alaska, May is like spring, June is like summer and August is like fall then the rest of the year, it is winter.
Can I just tell you how beautiful, refreshing, peaceful and totally awesome it was!
I think it is very different from the "normal" cruise where it is hot and sunny and you wear tank tops, flip flops and swim suits everywhere. On this cruise it was pants and sometimes even light jacket weather.
The views were so beautiful it almost took your breath away. I think I took about 250 photos (thank heavens for digital). The bottom photo is the Marjorie Glacier, it is in Glacier Bay and I know it looks small, but it is about 2 miles from side to side.
In Juneau we took a helicopter ride (I was scared, but I sucked it up) to the Mendenhall Glacier (the top photo) and walked around on it and even drank glacier water from a stream - it was SO cold.
I would highly recommend that you put this cruise on the "to do" list. We had a very fun and relaxing time. It was the Princess Cruise Lines
After we came home I threw my towels on the bathroom floor and nobody picked them up, or made my bed or anything (oh, that's my job...)- what a rude awakening!

how I spent my summer vacation

Hi, yes I am still alive... It has been forever since I have written anything which is totally embarrassing.
I am going to start this post out like the dreaded "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" reports we all loved from grade school.
This will take a few posts because there was just so much going on!
First came the New York trip in June and what an absolute blast that was. The weather was beautiful, most of the time, except on the day of the big 100 year celebration when it rained the ENTIRE day not a huge storm but just rain all day - see photo for the beautiful weather. We had a tent set up and a band, and everything and the show went on - rain or shine. The band was called Nic and the Nice Guys and they were a very fun band. In retrospect, I don't think the party would have been near as much fun if the weather had been sunny and beautiful. It was just so typical of Rochester rain and it was so funny to be dancing in the rain with wet hair and muddy feet. I am not a dancer at all but I was out there on the dance floor with the rest of my family all dancing our hearts out. It was so fun to be there with dear friends, cousins, aunts, uncles and even my mom.
Stay tuned for part 2 which will be posted tomorrow, with any luck at all.
Thanks to all for being SO patient with me :)
