Market for Me

Hi Everyone! I think I am the last one to blog market. I'll try to remember all the details (or at least some) so here goes:
Our plane left at some wreched hour of the morning like 6:45 so we were at the airport at something like 5:00am. That part of the trip is a blur... the only thing I remember was that we had to go from Salt Lake to Las Vegas to get to Houston.
My Friends Valerie and Ann went with me to help in the booth - they were so great! I honestly couldn't have done it without them. Another friend, Gail was already down there and helped out too. It worked out well because everyone got a chance to really look around market on their "time off" (even though they all mocked me about the laminated schedules I made for them).
I had an awsome location. I was right next to Moda Home. Across the way was Janet Rice-Bredin of Botanical Art Quilts and right next to her were Elizabeth of Late Bloomer with her trusty sidekick PAM we all had a fun time and Janet was so kind to share her chocolate with all of us and Elizabeth shared her Smarties too.
The set up of my booth went something like this... Everything you see in the pictures, or saw in my booth came down with us on the airplane in 6 huge suitcases and 3 carry-ons. The quilts, pattern racks, drapes, patterns everything.. I didn't ship ANYTHING.
Once the plane landed we went right to the convention center and started setting up. Well, I just stood there scratching my head wondering where in the world we were going to put all of these quilts. Valerie and Ann were great, they just jumped right in and put everything up and made it look SO good. I think it took us about 3 hours.
Later on that night we went to Sample Spree, which I love, with all of its chaos and madness. Valerie is now able to recreate the Houston skyline with all the fat quarter bundles she bought. :)

The next day market began bright and early at 9:30. I always get a pit in my stomach when the guy on the loud speaker announces "2007 Fall Market is now opened for business". It freaks me out and I get all worried about how I will do.
Now that it is all over and the dust has settled, I feel very good about how we did and all the patterns we sold and the contacts we made. I think we had a lot of fun too. We worked hard, as Pam said, I rock the brochures like a pro!! We walked MILES and played hard too.
Gail and her sister Deb took us to a very nice Italian restaurant on Saturday night where we had a good time and great food.
It was fun to reconnect with friends that I made at Spring market and great to meet new ones too.
I will see you all in Portland!! Here are some photos of the before, during and the after.
