Retreat!!

I had the awesome opportunity of being invited to do a trunk show and teach at a retreat. Amy McClellan, who owns American Quilting in Orem Utah put it on. It was SO fun! I had never been to a real retreat, the only retreating I do is to the basement to sew for hours at a time. This one was held at the Provo Marriott (MUCH nicer than my basement).

After I had set up my stuff, I walked across the hall to this conference room where there were tables set up in groups of 4 (and can I just say, there were TONS of tables). Everyone had their own "space" with their sewing machines, lamps, and small ironing boards all set up. It was a sight to behold! The ladies were just sewing away and loving it. They were all working on different projects. It was truly inspiring!

I now love retreats! They bring people together for some relaxation, sewing, eating and you get to make new friends too!
It was a real blast. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll be able to do it again next year (hint, hint Amy).

So, here's a shout out to Amy and to all of you awesome ladies who were at the retreat, thanks for making me feel welcome! You're great!
Mary

I am very excited to see all of those mystery quilts!
