Sometimes ya just gotta make a mess!

You all know the old saying "sometimes you have to make a mess to clean up" (I think it's an old saying isn't it)?? Well, having said that, I finally convinced Dear Husband to buy me some awesome IKEA Expedit shelves. They come in many different shapes and sizes. These two work best for me, now I can see all of my stash (kind of a small one) at a glance. I just LOVE IT!! I'll show you the uncensored photos - I hope they won't be too shocking... There, you've been warned, so go ahead and look

It all started with an empty wall...

Then came "the mess" (if you see anything you want - just let me know, maybe we can make a trade)

and the empty bins (these used to be stuffed full of fabric)

And finally, the beautiful "after". I am very happy with how it turned out.

But... don't be fooled. Don't look behind the curtain!! (there just might be 20 bolts of yummy Portabello Market fabric hiding behind there, along with a few other things :)

I'm still working on making it cute - I have a problem with that kind of thing. I'm glad that's done. Now on to thinking about / planning / getting ready for Quilt Festival in July in Long Beach

Looks much better. I love the Q.U.I.L.T. letters in the box as a decoration. I'll have to remember that one too!

That's exactly how I organize, everything on the floor in a heap, but eventually it looks great! Not as great as your new shelves, I love them!

I love your new shelves and your organizing is far better than I can come up with! I have trouble trying to figure out how to sort the fabric. Can you please tell me more about your sewing table? I really like it, what brand and do you like it? Are there things you don't like about it?

Thanks a lurker
